where when the pinion bearing seized it literally welded it self to the pinion itself. Both of them had bad bearings, one of them were the pinion bearing, and the other was output bearing. One had 97K miles the other had 214K, judging from experience i figure why chance it? 97K mile one was from a NA and the 214K one was from my old TT. I know its not common for them to go out but if i were to install a R&P i would want it to last as long as it was intended for, i would hate to drive maybe 20-30K and then something goes bad. It would cost more to have it redone later down the line then to take the hit now and not worry about it for another 200K+.
